Yoga with a Chair

Tuesday & Thursday | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Saturday  | 10:45 – 11:45 am

Yoga with a Chair is  series of  classic yoga poses done with the assistance of a chair to better your alignment.  Standing poses, Seated poses, Twist, Inverted poses and Back Extensions. This class is suitable for students with some yoga experience to advanced students. 

Students returning from being absent from practice or recovering form injury will find it beneficial as it is a slower pace.

Workshop 1: Tapas — Self-Discipline
Creating a Yoga Lifestyle Begins with Tapas January 25
Explore different ways to stay on a yogic path while creating your own version of a yoga lifestyle. This workshop focuses on Tapas, the inner fire that supports commitment, consistency, and personal growth.
• Create a yoga vision board
• Learn simple ways to inspire and sustain your practice

• Discussion on the importance of community and staying on track

Workshop 2: Isvara Pranidhana
Connecting with the Rhythms of Nature April 26

Discover how connecting with nature can infuse and deepen a spiritual practice. This workshop explores Isvara Pranidhana—surrendering to and trusting something greater than ourselves.
• Discussion on spiritual connection and surrender
• Outdoor yoga practice at Mission Bay
• Asana, pranayama, and meditation

Workshop 3: Ahimsa
Practicing Kindness July 26

Ahimsa is the practice of kindness toward ourselves and others—physically, mentally, and through our words, both on and off the mat.
• Discussion on Ahimsa in daily life
• Asana practice exploring self-talk and awareness
• Learning to use props with compassion (even when the ego resists)
• Meditation, self-reflection, and group conversation
• Applying yogic tools beyond the mat

Workshop 4: Satya
Truthfulness October 25

Practicing truthfulness with ourselves builds emotional resilience and self-trust. This workshop uses Satya to help navigate difficult emotions and recover from setbacks with compassion.

• Tools for self-check-in, lowering anxiety, and creating balance in daily life

Introduction to Yoga in the Style of BKS Iyengar Series

Start the new year off  grounded with a supportive  beginner – friendly introduction to yoga in the style of of BKS Iyengar. Learn foundational alignment , build confidence and enjoy unlimited access to  classes at San Diego Yoga Studio  through out the month of January.  Great for those new to yoga or if you are in need of a refresher course.

Partner Yoga is a playful, supportive practice designed for friends, family members, or anyone who wants to practice together.

In this class, we’ll explore:

• Gentle partner stretches and poses
• Balance, trust, and communication
• Breath awareness and mindful connection
• Laughter, curiosity, and shared presence

This practice is about connection, not perfection. You’re welcome to come with a friend, or loved one.
All levels welcome. No prior partner yoga experience needed.
