Women’s Weekend Retreat

A weekend of yoga meditation, pranayama, dance, and art |  In-Studio

Using the Yama Ahimsa (nonviolence) to cultivate better relationships with ourselves and other women. Ahimsa is the practice of nonviolence. The practice of creating balance in life, facing your fears, courage, and cultivating kindness and compassion to others and yourself.

San Diego Yoga Studio with its wonderful energy is the perfect place for a women’s retreat. Kim has put together a weekend of delicious food and guest teachers that will introduce us to the benefits of Doodle Meditation using art to calm the mind and explore our true selves. Also included is Nia, a sensory-based movement practice that fuses dance, martial arts, and healing arts promoting a positive body image. 

Weekend Activities

Friday evening: 6-8 pm
The weekend begins with a meet and greet, light dinner, and discussion
Personalizing journals for lead Doodle Meditation (journals and art materials included.)

Saturday: 12 – 4 PM
2-hour yoga practice – All Levels
1-hour Lead Doodle Meditation with snack
1-hour Introduction to Nia Dance Method

Sunday: 11 AM – 2 PM
1-hour Meditation and pranayama
20-minute break (time for doodle and reflections)
1 hour Nia

Yoga for Graceful Aging
Thursdays  |  12:15 – 1:15 pm

You can begin Yoga at any age. This class is designed for those new to yoga, and students looking to improve their balance, core-strength, leg and arm strength, mobility, and flexibility. The classes are taught at a slower pace and incorporate the use of multitude props to help you achieve your yoga goals—keeping you youthful in mind, body, and spirit. This class is a slower pace class and suitable for beginners.

Yoga Studies 2023

Series of 10 2-hour Yoga Workshops
Led by Kim Imlay, CIYT,  E-RYT, YACEP, IYAT and Jill Pearson-Keltner, MEd, CIYT

Join Kim Imlay and Jill Pearson-Keltner for a series of 10 yoga workshops held on the last Sunday of the month. Yoga Studies will cover a variety of subjects to enhance your personal growth through the practice of yoga, from the lineage of yoga, asana, and the use of props, pranayama, meditation, and mythology, to yogic chanting.  Workshops will include Q&A and student participation.
Kim and Jill will approach each workshop with their intuitive and holistic approach to teaching yoga. They have 30 years of experience as certified instructors and teaching in the style of BKS Iyengar. These classes can be used toward Yoga Alliance continuing education credit.
Must have at least six months of yoga experience to attend.

Yoga for All

Donation Class  is back! A good time for retirees, for those of you who work in the hospitality industry, or for parents before the school day is done. We are excited to add Cindy  to the teaching staff.  Cindy is a long time Iyengar trained student and is working towards being a certified yoga teacher happy to have her on board.

This is a donation class. Pay as you can.

Restorative Yoga

Monday & Wednesday  | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

This class is a blend of supported poses, basic pranayama and guided meditation.

Suitable for beginners to advance students

Chair Yoga

Tuesday & Thursday  | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Twists, standing, seated, and inversions all taught using the chair.
